I am really excited about moving to a new job. I almost dislike using the word "job" because it is such an awesome opportunity. Beginning in June I will be working at Atlantic Union College in South Lancaster, Massachusetts, teaching in the Education and Psychology Department.
With over 30 years of experience in K-12 classrooms I have much to contribute to the preparation of the education majors at AUC. I have a passion for teaching and learning. Learning is exciting; teaching is extreme. At least the way that I approach it.
I have always incorporated as much technology into my teaching as possible. Every tech advance and gadget gets scrutinized for possible connections and adaptations for educational purposes. Right now I am reading a Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, and Other Powerful Web Tools for Classrooms by Will Richardson. While I have used Websites in my teaching, I have just begun to explore Blogs. Blogs, wikis, and podcasts offer great things to higher education. I plan to introduce them to my AUC classes. My class on Computers in the Classroom will involve a lot more than just word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and databases.
Can't wait to get started.
